I wished to train in Martial Arts but felt Kempo was not right for me so I chose to train in Aikido and Iaido. The ladies could wear hakama [wide pleated Japanese trousers] which looked very elegant particular when weapon training. Which lead me to draw ‘Jodo’. I was interested in the shapes the Martial Artists clothing made during defence and attack .
